‘Down to the Bone’ DVD Captures and clips

DVD Captures and video clips from my very favorite film with Vera – Down to the Bone. Vera is simply amazing in this part and if you haven’t seen it yet, be sure to rent or buy it right away! Read more about the film at its information page.

Vera said herself about her part in the movie:

“It was a breakthrough in the sense that this was the first time I was given an opportunity to play such a fully dimensional, complex character. I’ve always worked steadily in projects that either came in under the radar, weren’t successes, or were flat-out not good. I thought I had no chance; I thought it would be the same old story–one of the Kates [Cate Blanchett or Kate Winslet] would get it. But I met with Debra, and, I don’t know, my vision and her vision of it clicked. It was pretty incredible of her to cast me despite [my] having no box office clout.”

Vera joins Sigma’s ‘Greenland Time’

Yet another new project for Vera:

Vera Farmiga is on board new psychological-thriller Greenland Time, which is being shopped in Cannes by Sigma producer Gillian Berrie.

Sigma is re-teaming with regular collaborator Zentropa on the Greenland-set psychological thriller about a woman out for revenge on the man who killed her daughter in a hit-and-run accident.

Marie Gade produces for Zentropa. Discussions are underway for the male role.

Writers David Newman and Catherine Linstrum make their feature directorial debuts on the project which was developed by the UK’s BFI/Film Agency for Wales. The latter has also committed production finance. The project is aiming for an October/November shoot.

Farmiga is represented by CAA and Authentic.

Anchor Bay acquires US rights to ‘Admissions’

Some updates on Admissions, apparently filming begins on May 30!

Following their collaboration on City Island, Anchor Bay and Andy Garcia’s CineSon Productions are reuniting on the rom-com to star Garcia and Vera Farmiga.

Principal photography is scheduled to begin on May 30 and Ellen Wander of Film Bridge International will handle international sales and also serves as executive producer alongside Sonya Lunsford.

Adam Rodgers directs Admissions from the screenplay he co-wrote with Glenn German, who will also produce with Sig Libowitz under his Look At The Moon Productions label.

Admissions follows the relationship that develops over the course of a day between a buttoned-up surgeon and a free-spirited woman attending a college tour with their children.

Paradigm represents Andy Garcia and the Paradigm Motion Picture Finance Group arranged the financing and completed the deal with Anchor Bay Films.
